Our team
AquaManage was established in 2009 by specialist water treatment engineer, Rick Maffescioni.
Rick has 25+ years experience in the Water Industry, ranging from Municipal, Industrial WTP and WWTP Operations, Maintenance, through to process and control system troubleshooting.
AquaManage also draws upon the knowledge of Keith Horlock with 40+ years experience, now on a Part time basis.
Mark Petersen, Greg Johnson and Leigh Heath, all with 20+ years experience in Water Treatment technologies, take care of the on-site Project Management, Supervision, Commissioning, Servicing and troubleshooting of our client base.
Rod Smith joined the AquaManage team in January 2019 taking on the role of General Manager, assisting Rick with the day-to-day business management operations.
Rick Maffescioni
Rick started AquaManage as a result of the industry networks generated from his 25+ years experience in the Water Industry. His role in AquaManage incorporates the combination of previous roles in addition to the added responsibility of day-to-day business ownership and operations. In summary, he specialises in:-
- Project and Business Management in the Water Industry for larger scale projects i.e.: greater than $5.0M.
- Design and Construction of Water Treatment facilities (or upgrades thereof), which may include engineered package/s of a combination of equipment manufactured by others, limited to a project value of $3.0M.
- After-sales Service and Technical support of Water Treatment plant and associated equipment, predominantly focusing on membrane technologies. We currently maintain a Service portfolio of 60+ plants around Australia and New Zealand
- Importing/reselling equipment/spare parts for resale within Australia and New Zealand; related to the Water Industry and our clients.
Rod Smith
Rod joined the AquaManage team after working with the majority of them at other Companies over the last 30 years in the Water Industry. His role in AquaManage as General Manager incorporates the combination of previous roles in addition to day-to-day business management operations. In summary, Rod specialise in:
- Project and Business Management in the Water Industry for larger scale projects i.e.: greater than $5.0M.
- Design and Construction of Water Treatment facilities (or upgrades thereof), which may include engineered package/s of a combination of equipment manufactured by others, limited to a project value of $3.0M.
- After-sales Service and Technical support of Water Treatment plant and associated equipment, predominantly focusing on membrane technologies.
- Importing/reselling equipment/spare parts for resale within Australia and New Zealand; related to the Water Industry and our clients.
Keith Horlock
Keith joined AquaManage when the Company was formed in 2009. He holds a part-time position of Process/Project Engineer, his role is to provide desktop assist to the Water Systems process and project aspects of their business. He is also responsible for administration of the Integrated Management System (IMS) which incorporates QA/OH&S+E documentation and procedures.
In summary, he specialises in:
- Design and Construction of Water Treatment facilities (or upgrades thereof), which may include an engineered package of a combination of equipment manufactured by others.
- Equipment Sales, After-sales Service and Technical support of Water Treatment plant and associated equipment, mainly focusing on the Memcor® related technologies.
Responsibilities include:
- Process engineering and application design of all facets of Water Treatment Technologies (inc: P&ID drawings, etc.).
- Implementation of new office procedures.
Greg Johnson
Greg joined AquaManage in 2011 and holds the position of Service/Commissioning Engineer, with his primary role providing on-site Service and Technical Support as well as site supervision, installation and commissioning for new design and construct projects and augmentation works.
Greg has a wealth of knowledge and experience providing service and maintainence to existing plant and equipment throughout Australia and Nauru and has been exposed to the following technologies:
- Micro/Ultrafiltration
- Conventional Clarification
- Demineralisation
- Reverse Osmosis
- Chlorination/Chloramination
- Softeners
- Ultra Violet SterilisationWith
Mark holds the position of Project Manager and his primary role with AquaManage is to provide on-site and off-site project management, Service and Technical Support as well as site supervision for new design and construct projects and augmentation works.
His responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Tender evaluation and preparation
- Business development and capital plant sales
- Provides mechanical and process skills for new design and construction projects
- On-site after-sales service and technical support for water industry related infrastructure
- Providing breakdown and troubleshooting service to our existing Customer base
Leigh comes from plumbing background with his trade in Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning, Gas fitting and Water plumbing, undertaking all aspects of Industrial, Commercial and Domestic Plumbing. He then completed his Cert 3 in Water and Waste Water Treatment at Deakin University, Geelong and was responsible for operating and maintaining treatment plants and pump stations along the north west coast of Tasmania.
Now as a Service Engineer developing his skills in the water industry in Technical Support, Sales and Service, Leigh has also been responsible for Mechanical design and installation of Aquamanages' recent projects/upgrades including;
- Goulburn Valley Water - 1.0ML/day mobile Granular Activated Carbon Filter system
- FNQ Aboriginal Community Council - 700kL/day High pressure to low pressure conversion
- Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management - 50 L/sec UV Disinfection systems
